The Scania VCI3 diagnostic system is the latest version of the diagnostic tool, providing comprehensive service for all Scania vehicles manufactured after 2004. The VCI3 diagnostic scanner features a CAN bus interface and the ability to diagnose via Wi-Fi and a USB cable. The kit includes Scania SDP3 software, version 2.42, SCANIA XCOM (engineering software for editing SOPS files in real time), and a SCANIA MULTI parts catalog.
- The Scania VCI 3 Adapter is a new tool developed by Scania to provide complete service for all Scania trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles or high-powered engines manufactured by Scania.
- The VCI3 is the successor to the well-known Scania VCI2 diagnostic tool. This new tool is designed to support all Scania CAN-based diagnostic systems. It is an extremely fast yet very compact diagnostic tool.
- One of the most interesting new features found in the Scania VCI3 is wireless Wi-Fi connection (there is also a USB port for wired connection).
- Now you can work without a wired connection to your truck, simply forget about problems such as damaged data cables and other wiring issues.
- Software support for the Scania VCI3 was introduced in Scania SDP3 version 2.42, so if you want to use this tool, you need this version of SDP3 or later.

Additionally, you can purchase engineering software:
SCANIA CDEV –
Reading ECU IDs, data, parameters, and fingerprints.
Reading and clearing DTCs.
Programming of all SparePart systems.
Collection of all data for field work.
Allows you to download, upload, compare, and edit SOPS files.
SCANIA ECOM –
• Read stored DTCs and create Freeze Frames.
• Clear inactive DTCs.
• Read information about stored operating cycles.
• Measure internal values such as engine speed, pressures, and temperatures and save them to a file.
• Program specific parameters
SCANIA XCOM – Scania XCOM 2.30 is a diagnostic program for reading, saving, and modifying ECU data, such as error codes, statistical data parameters, etc., using the Scania VCI2 or Scania VCI3 interface, which is used to connect to the ECU via the CAN protocol.
Supported ECU data modifications include:
EMS – Engine Management System.
GMS – Gearbox Management System.
RET – Retarder System.
AWD – All-Wheel Drive System.
CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM)
EEC – Emission Control System.
COO (COO7) – Coordinator.
BWS (BCI1) – Bodywork System.
Supported ECUs:
EMS (S6, S7, S8).
GMS (OPC4, OPC5).
RET (RET1, RET2).
AWD (AWD1).
EEC (SCR1, EEC3).
COO (CoO6, COO7).
HMS (HMS1).
Functions:
NOx torque limit ON/OFF.
EGR ON/OFF.
Chassis ID/VIN Change.
Immobilizer ON/OFF.
Horsepower boost
ECU recovery.
ECU reset.
ECU unlock without PIN.
SCANIA MULTI – Contains information on spare parts for Scania trucks and buses. All information is available since 1985, for SCANIA trucks, chassis, and buses, for all regions (equipment and configuration vary).
Service documentation in English and Russian.
Scania SOPS encrypter/decrypter is a program for decrypting and encrypting Scania SOPS files—a file containing factory truck settings and 300 parameters. Key parameters include: speed limit, chassis number, and enabling/disabling the torque limit error when AdBlue is missing.
Workflow:
• Load from SDP 3 from a truck’s SOPS export file;
• Decrypt the SOPS export file in XML format;
• Edit the XML file using any XML editor;
• Change over 300 parameters: for example, AdBlue, EGR, NOx Control,…
• Encrypt the XML file into a SOPS import file;
• Upload the SOPS import file to the truck from SDP 3;
This functionality can also be modified using the engineering version of Scania SDP3, called XCOM.
XCOM version 2.30 is also available for order.
For vehicles manufactured before 2004, you will need a Scania VCI-1 scanner.
